Pyruvate and Candesartan Cilexetil

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Candesartan Cilexetil and Pyruvate in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Pyruvate at all — not against Candesartan Cilexetil, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Pyruvate safety at a glance

Pyruvate overall Use caution Often tolerated in short studies but high doses cause digestive upset and long-term safety is not well studied.
Pregnancy Avoid There is not enough safety information, so it is best avoided during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding Avoid Safety while breastfeeding has not been studied, so avoid use.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

What Pyruvate Itself Has Been Linked To

This is not an interaction — nothing below involves Candesartan Cilexetil. It is the side-effect record for Pyruvate on its own, from the licensed Natural Medicines monograph. If something new turns up after you add Pyruvate, this list is the first place to look.

  • Bloating or gas / Diarrhea Additional detail

“Orally, pyruvate may cause bloating, diarrhea, flatulence, and loose stools. In a clinical trial, pyruvate 22-44 grams daily was associated with gas and bloating in 19% more subjects than placebo and loose stools or diarrhea in 12% and 35% more subjects than placebo, respectively.”

Everything above comes from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record for Pyruvate — expand a row for the licensed statement it rests on. We read the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Candesartan Cilexetil’s FDA label too, and the two lists don’t meaningfully overlap — which is why no Candesartan Cilexetil column appears here.

About Pyruvate

What is Pyruvate?

  • Weight loss and fat loss
  • Exercise performance and endurance
  • Energy boosting
  • Body composition support

Pyruvate is a natural compound your body makes during the breakdown of sugar for energy, and it is sold as a supplement mainly for weight loss and athletic performance. The evidence for these uses is weak and mixed, and high doses commonly cause stomach upset. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have health conditions or take other medicines.

Capsules, tablets, powder; often as calcium pyruvate or sodium pyruvate

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Pyruvate is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Pyruvate record says about it on its own.

Pyruvate: dosing

There is no well-established standard dose for pyruvate. Studies have used a wide range of amounts, and many used large doses that caused stomach upset.Because a reliable effective and safe dose has not been settled, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed them.
