Here's the thing to keep in mind with Kazano (which combines alogliptin and metformin to lower your blood sugar): ribose has been shown in clinical research to lower blood glucose on its own, and that effect gets bigger with higher doses. So when you stack ribose on top of a medication that's already working to bring your sugar down, the two can add up and push your levels too low.

If that happens, you might feel shaky, sweaty, lightheaded, irritable, or unusually tired, which are the classic signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). It's a sensible idea to monitor your sugars more closely if you try ribose, and please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than changing anything on your own.
