Here's the gist with Taltz (ixekizumab). This is a biologic medicine that works by calming down a specific part of your overactive immune system (it blocks a signaling protein called IL-17A) to ease psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis. Shark cartilage is interesting here because some lab studies suggest it might do the opposite, gently revving up immune activity.

So the theoretical concern is that shark cartilage could work against what Taltz is trying to do, possibly making your skin or joint symptoms harder to control. I want to be honest though: this is based only on test-tube findings and has never been seen in real people, so it's a weak, theoretical worry. Since shark cartilage offers little proven benefit anyway, I'd just run it by your doctor or pharmacist first.

What Is Ixekizumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Taltz

Taltz (ixekizumab) injection is used to treat several immune-driven conditions. In patients aged 6 and older, Taltz treats moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis when the condition is serious enough to need systemic treatment or light therapy. In adults, Taltz also treats active psoriatic arthritis, active ankylosing spondylitis (a type of inflammatory spinal arthritis), and active non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (inflammatory spinal disease not yet visible on X-rays) when there are objective signs of inflammation.
