Here's the idea behind this pairing. Taltz (ixekizumab) is a biologic that calms down part of your immune system to clear psoriasis or ease psoriatic arthritis and spondylitis. Andrographis, on the other hand, has shown signs in lab and animal studies of revving the immune system up a bit. So in theory, the herb could push in the opposite direction and slightly blunt how well your Taltz works, meaning your skin or joint symptoms might not stay as well controlled.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's only based on test-tube and animal research, not real patients, so the real-world risk is uncertain and likely small. Still, since you're paying for a specialty medication to keep things calm, I'd run andrographis past your doctor or pharmacist before adding it.

What Is Ixekizumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Taltz

Taltz (ixekizumab) injection is used to treat several immune-driven conditions. In patients aged 6 and older, Taltz treats moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis when the condition is serious enough to need systemic treatment or light therapy. In adults, Taltz also treats active psoriatic arthritis, active ankylosing spondylitis (a type of inflammatory spinal arthritis), and active non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (inflammatory spinal disease not yet visible on X-rays) when there are objective signs of inflammation.
