Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Sotorasib
Sotorasib falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Siberian Cocklebur interacts with.
Well-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
Here's the concern with pairing Siberian cocklebur and Sotorasib (Lumakras). This isn't about one speeding up or slowing down the other. Instead, both can be tough on your liver on their own. Siberian cocklebur has been tied to real cases of liver injury, and even liver failure, while sotorasib already carries a known risk of raising liver enzymes and causing liver inflammation. Stacking the two together could add up and increase the chance of liver damage.
Watch for signs like yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, nausea, or unusual tiredness. Your cancer team already checks your liver labs during sotorasib treatment, so please loop in your oncologist or pharmacist before adding any cocklebur product. Don't change your sotorasib on your own.
