Avocado Sugar Extract
Also known as
- D-Mannoheptulose
Avocado sugar extract, derived from avocado fruit, is a rich natural source of D-mannoheptulose, a unique 7-carbon sugar. Research indicates that D-mannoheptulose may have several potential effects on glucose metabolism. It appears to inhibit glucose-induced insulin release and glucose metabolism in pancreatic islet cells and hepatocytes. Additionally, D-mannoheptulose may inhibit lactate formation in blood cells. D-mannoheptulose hexa-acetate, a derivative, interferes with the phosphorylation of D-glucose.
