Here's the gist for Invokana (canagliflozin): this medicine works by helping your kidneys flush extra sugar out through your urine. The concern on file is that avocado sugar extract, in theory, could nudge blood sugar in the wrong direction and work against your diabetes medicine. If that happened, your numbers might run higher than usual, and you could notice more thirst, more bathroom trips, or just feeling off.

I want to be honest with you though: this is only a theoretical concern based on lab and animal studies, not real human results. So it's far from a sure thing. Still, since you're using a blood sugar medication, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this supplement, and keep an eye on your readings if you do.

About Canagliflozin

What Is Canagliflozin Used For?

Brand name: Invokana

Invokana (canagliflozin) is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

In adults with type 2 diabetes, Invokana is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death in those with established cardiovascular disease, and to reduce the risk of serious kidney complications — including end-stage kidney disease, cardiovascular death, and hospitalization for heart failure — in those with diabetic kidney disease and high levels of protein in the urine.
