Here's the gist: vildagliptin (Galvus) works by boosting your body's own blood-sugar-lowering hormones so your glucose stays in a healthier range. Avocado sugar extract, which contains an unusual sugar called D-mannoheptulose, has been looked at in lab and animal studies for possibly nudging blood sugar in the opposite direction, meaning it could push glucose up a bit. If that happens, it might partly work against vildagliptin and leave your numbers running higher than expected.

I want to be honest, though: this is theoretical and only comes from test-tube and animal research, so we really don't know if it matters in real people. If you do take it, keep an eye on your blood sugar readings and check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting or stopping anything.
