Theoretically, avocado sugar extract might increase blood glucose levels, and decrease the effects of antidiabetic agents. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary. Here's the gist for gliclazide (Diamicron): this medicine lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. The concern on file is that avocado sugar extract might do the opposite and push your blood sugar up, which could partly cancel out what gliclazide is trying to do. In plain terms, your numbers might run higher than expected.

I want to be honest about how shaky this is. The signal comes only from lab and animal work, not from people, so we really don't know if it matters at the doses folks actually take. Gliclazide isn't a prodrug, so its activation isn't the issue here. If you do try this supplement, watch your readings and loop in your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
