Here's the gist for anyone using Trulicity (dulaglutide) alongside avocado sugar extract. Dulaglutide is a weekly injection that lowers blood sugar by mimicking a hormone called GLP-1. The concern on file is that avocado sugar extract (its active compound, D-mannoheptulose) might raise blood glucose, which could work against your dulaglutide and leave your sugars higher than expected. In plain terms, the supplement may blunt some of the medication's blood-sugar-lowering benefit.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though: this is theoretical and comes only from lab and animal studies, not from people. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you decide to try this supplement, check your blood sugar more closely and loop in your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Trulicity

Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.
