ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Ertugliflozin, Metformin Hydrochloride
Ertugliflozin, Metformin Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Spinach interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version for Segluromet, which combines ertugliflozin and metformin to lower your blood sugar. The thought here is that spinach itself may nudge your blood sugar down a little after a meal. Pair that gentle effect with two medications already working to lower glucose, and in theory you could see your numbers dip lower than expected, raising the chance of hypoglycemia (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, hunger, or feeling confused).
I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how spinach behaves, not strong proof. Eating spinach as part of normal meals is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you load up on concentrated spinach extracts or supplements, just keep an eye on your blood sugar and mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

About Spinach
What is Spinach?
- General nutrition and antioxidant support
- Eye health
- Heart health and blood pressure
- Athletic performance
- Constipation and digestive support
Spinach is a nutrient-dense leafy green that is a healthy part of a balanced diet, providing vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. While it is very safe as a food, concentrated supplements and extracts are far less studied, and most specific health claims are not strongly proven. People prone to kidney stones or taking blood thinners should be mindful of its oxalate and vitamin K content.
