Vorapaxar falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Tarragon interacts with.

Evidence from in vitro research suggests that tarragon extract inhibits platelet aggregation and adhesion. Theoretically, tarragon might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the gist for Vorapaxar (Zontivity): it's a blood thinner that stops platelets from clumping together, which lowers your odds of another heart attack or stroke. Lab studies hint that tarragon may also make platelets a little less sticky on its own. Put the two together and, in theory, you could be tipping the scales a bit further toward easy bleeding.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes from test-tube research, not from people, so we really don't know if it matters in real life. The amount of tarragon you'd sprinkle on chicken or fish is very unlikely to be an issue. Concentrated tarragon supplements or its essential oil are where I'd be more cautious. Watch for things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and run any tarragon supplement past your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Vorapaxar Used For?

Brand name: Zontivity

Zontivity (vorapaxar) is used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, cardiovascular death, and the need for urgent procedures to open blocked arteries. It is prescribed for people who have already had a heart attack or who have peripheral arterial disease (PAD) — a condition where arteries outside the heart become narrowed or blocked.

Zontivity is not used alone. It is given alongside aspirin and/or clopidogrel as part of a broader antiplatelet treatment plan.
