Here's the gist: tribulus may have a mild blood sugar lowering effect of its own. When you stack that on top of metformin XR, which is already working to bring your glucose down, the two can add up. In some small studies, people with type 2 diabetes who took tribulus alongside their diabetes medicine saw lower blood sugar readings.

If your levels drop too far, you might feel shaky, sweaty, lightheaded, hungry, or unusually tired. Honestly, metformin by itself rarely causes serious lows, so the main thing is just to keep an eye on your numbers if you add tribulus. The evidence here is still pretty limited, so don't panic, but do check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
