Turpentine Oil + Tetracycline
Tetracycline brand names: Sumycin, Sumycin 250, Tetrex BID, Achromycin V, Robitet, and others.
Turpentine Oil has a moderate interaction with Tetracycline. Some in vitro research shows that alpha-pinene, the major constituent of turpentine oil, does not increase the absorption of chlorpromazine or haloperidol when applied topically.

TOPICAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Tetracycline
Tetracycline falls under TOPICAL DRUGS — the group Turpentine Oil interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This one is really about topical tetracycline (like a skin gel or ointment for acne), not the pills you swallow. The idea is that turpentine oil acts as a skin-penetration helper. In lab and animal studies it pushed certain medicines through the skin a bit faster, so in theory, rubbing it on at the same spot could let more tetracycline soak in. That might mean more local irritation, redness, dryness, or stinging where you apply it.
Honestly, the evidence here is weak and theoretical, drawn from test-tube and animal work with other drugs, not from people using tetracycline. So I wouldn't panic. Still, layering products on the same patch of skin isn't a great habit. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

About Turpentine Oil
What is Turpentine Oil?
- Muscle and joint aches (topical)
- Cough and congestion (chest rubs)
- Minor skin conditions
- Antiseptic
- Toothache (traditional)
Turpentine oil is a strong-smelling pine resin product used mostly in tiny amounts in topical rubs for muscle aches and congestion. It can be dangerous and even deadly if swallowed, and reliable evidence for health benefits is very limited. Never drink turpentine oil, and only use diluted, purified products on the skin with care.
About Tetracycline
What Is Tetracycline Used For?
Brand names: Sumycin, Sumycin 250, Tetrex BID, Achromycin V, Robitet, Sumycin 500, Tetra, Nor-Tet, Tetracyn, Tetrex, Achromycin, Terramycin IM
Oral tetracycline hydrochloride (tablets and capsules) treats infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It should only be used when an infection is proven or strongly suspected to be bacterial.
Topical tetracycline products (ointments, sprays and solutions, such as Tetracyte, Vitastem and ViaDerma Care) are over-the-counter first aid. They help prevent skin infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns.
