ORAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium Bromide
Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium Bromide falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Xanthan Gum interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Librax (chlordiazepoxide and clidinium). Xanthan gum is a soluble fiber that turns into a thick gel in your stomach and slows how fast things move along. In theory, that gel could trap part of your dose or slow it down, so your body might absorb a little less or take longer to feel it. This isn't a dangerous reaction, just a possible dip in how well the medicine works for your stomach cramps, spasms, or anxiety.
The good news is this is theoretical, based on how fiber behaves, not on real reports of problems. To stay safe, take your Librax first and wait about 30 to 60 minutes before any xanthan gum thickener or supplement. Small food amounts are unlikely to matter. Check with your pharmacist if you use thickened liquids regularly.
