Temazepam falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Zizyphus interacts with.

Theoretically, zizyphus might cause additive sedative effects when taken with CNS depressants.
Some animal research has found that various parts of zizyphus have sedative effects. However, other animal research shows that zizyphus plant extract does not alter sleep parameters when used in combination with pentobarbital.

Here's the gist with Restoril (temazepam) and jujube. Temazepam already calms your brain to help you sleep. Zizyphus is traditionally used as a relaxing, sleep-friendly remedy, so the concern is simply that the two together could pile on. In theory that added sedation might leave you feeling extra drowsy, groggy, or unsteady the next morning, and could make falling asleep too deep or hard to shake off.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based mostly on animal studies, and some of that research didn't even show a clear sleep effect. Eating jujube fruit as food is unlikely to matter. A concentrated supplement is where I'd be more cautious. Before pairing them, just check with your pharmacist or doctor.

Temazepam capsules — sold as Restoril and under the generic name Temazepam — are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, generally 7 to 10 days. They help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

This medication is intended for short periods only. If sleep trouble doesn't improve within 7 to 10 days, that may signal an underlying medical or psychiatric condition that needs its own evaluation.
