Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Zizyphus interacts with.

Theoretically, zizyphus might cause additive sedative effects when taken with CNS depressants.
Some animal research has found that various parts of zizyphus have sedative effects. However, other animal research shows that zizyphus plant extract does not alter sleep parameters when used in combination with pentobarbital.

Here's the gist with Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil): this is a long-acting antipsychotic given as an injection, usually every few weeks. The concern with Zizyphus (jujube) isn't about how your body breaks the drug down. It's simply that both may have a calming, drowsy effect, so stacking them could add up to more sedation than you'd want.

In real terms, that might look like extra sleepiness, feeling foggy, or being a little unsteady on your feet. I'll be honest though, this is a theoretical worry based mostly on animal studies, and the evidence is weak. Eating jujube fruit as food is very unlikely to matter. If you're thinking about a concentrated Zizyphus supplement, just run it by your doctor or pharmacist first.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
