What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Ahiflower SAP against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Ahiflower SAP by NFH
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Ahiflower SAP is a liquid supplement with 5 active ingredients: gamma-linolenic acid, omega-3 fatty acids, oleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, and stearidonic acid. These are all fatty acids — building blocks your body uses for structure and signaling.
The product also contains three inactive ingredients (rosemary extract, mixed tocopherols, and ascorbyl palmitate) that act as preservatives and stabilizers.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence we hold covers only oleic acid in this product. It's rated possibly effective for high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) and coronary heart disease (CHD) — meaning there's some encouraging research, but we'd need stronger trials to be certain.
We hold no effectiveness ratings for the other active ingredients in Ahiflower SAP, so we can't tell you what the evidence shows for the blend as a whole.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Oleic acid is generally recognized as safe when consumed in normal food amounts — like from olive oil. However, concentrated supplements haven't been well studied in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The food-level amounts are considered fine, but we don't have good safety data on higher supplement doses in these groups. No adverse effects were documented in our data.
For the other four active ingredients, we hold no safety information.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antidiabetes drugs (blood sugar medications), let your pharmacist know before starting Ahiflower SAP — oleic acid may increase how well these drugs work, and your dose might need adjustment. For the other active ingredients we could not fully check, use the medication search tool on this page with your exact prescriptions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
Ahiflower SAP may be worth considering if you're interested in omega and other fatty acids, especially for cholesterol or heart health support — though the evidence is preliminary. If you take diabetes medications, talk to your pharmacist or doctor first, because oleic acid could affect your blood sugar control.
Pregnant or breastfeeding? Check with your provider, because we don't have enough data on supplement-level doses.

Ahiflower SAP by NFH Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ahiflower SAP by NFH contains oleic acid, which has documented interactions with one major drug category.
Oleic acid may increase the effects of antidiabetes drugs (medications that lower blood sugar), according to preliminary research showing that diets rich in oleic acid reduce fasting blood sugar levels compared to other oil sources. This is a Moderate-severity interaction — if you take diabetes medications, your blood sugar control could shift, so your doctor may need to adjust your dose.

Although Ahiflower SAP has 5 active ingredients, we could not check several of them for interactions: gamma-linolenic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, stearidonic acid, and linolenic acid. Three other ingredients — omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids — are listed as blends whose individual components are detailed separately in our data.
Altogether, these interactions span 85 individual medications.

For each ingredient in Ahiflower SAP with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, DHA may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Although some clinical evidence suggests that DHA might reduce collagen-stimulated platelet aggregation and thromboxane release, most clinical evidence suggests that DHA alone does not affect blood clotting. However, theoretically, when given in combination with EPA as fish oil, concomitant use with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs (including aspirin) might increase risk of bleeding.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking DHA with antidiabetes drugs might reduce the effects of these medications.
In people with type 2 diabetes, including those taking oral hypoglycemic medications, DHA seems to increase fasting blood glucose levels.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking DHA with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Fish oils containing DHA can lower blood pressure and might have additive effects in patients treated with antihypertensives; use with caution.
