This product has 2 active ingredients. Phosphatidylcholine is a natural fat compound found in cell membranes that's used to support liver and digestive health.
Artemisinin is the active compound from Sweet Annie, a traditional herb, extracted and formulated here in an emulsion base of glycerin, ethanol, water, and medium chain triglycerides to improve absorption.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
For phosphatidylcholine, the evidence suggests it may help with ulcerative colitis (a type of inflammatory bowel disease). For other uses listed—nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, alcohol-related liver disease, Alzheimer disease, and anxiety—the evidence isn't established enough to rate.
Artemisinin is possibly effective for hay fever (allergic rhinitis). For fatty liver disease, malaria, and osteoarthritis, we don't have reliable evidence yet.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylcholine is generally well tolerated, though high doses can cause digestive upset like bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. At very high doses (30 grams per day), gastrointestinal problems are more likely.
Artemisinin is generally well tolerated at typical doses, with nausea and vomiting being the most common side effects. There is a rare concern about liver damage (hepatotoxicity)—one reported case involved a person taking high-dose artemisinin who developed hepatitis, though the connection wasn't certain.
Avoid artemisinin during pregnancy because of possible harm to the developing baby. For artemisinin while breastfeeding, there isn't enough safety information, so don't use it.
For phosphatidylcholine, choline is needed in pregnancy, but supplement safety beyond food sources isn't well studied—check with your doctor. The same applies to breastfeeding with phosphatidylcholine.

In vitro research shows that the Sweet Annie constituent artemisinin induces CYP2B6, possibly increasing CYP2B6 activity by 1.6-fold. Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Sweet Annie may alter plasma levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that the Sweet Annie constituent artemisinin induces CYP3A4, possibly increasing CYP3A4 activity by 1.9-fold. However, Sweet Annie extract seems to inhibit the activity of CYP3A4 in vitro, suggesting that other constituents of Sweet Annie play a role in its effects on the overall activity of this enzyme. Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive adverse hepatotoxic effects.
There is some concern that Sweet Annie can adversely affect the liver.
