What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: riboflavin (vitamin B2) at 100 mg per tablet. Riboflavin is a B vitamin your body needs for energy production and cell health.
The tablet also contains several inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, citric acid, stearic acid, croscarmellose sodium, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and magnesium silicate — which are fillers and binders that hold the tablet together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't hold effectiveness ratings for riboflavin in our data, so we can't tell you from our monograph whether this dose works for any particular purpose. If you're considering this supplement for a specific reason, ask your pharmacist or doctor what the evidence says for that use.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Riboflavin is very well tolerated and excess amounts are cleared through your urine. The most common side effects are dose-related nausea and bright yellow urine — that discoloration is harmless.
Rarely, some people report diarrhea or increased urination at higher doses, but these are uncommon. Riboflavin is needed during pregnancy and breastfeeding and is generally safe at recommended amounts.
If you're pregnant or nursing and want to use a higher-dose supplement, check with your provider first.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your exact medications if you take tetracycline antibiotics — riboflavin may theoretically reduce how well they work. Use the drug checker on this page to be sure.
