What’s inside
Full disclosure
This powder contains 4 active ingredients: vitamin B6 and three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) — L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine. The BCAAs are amino acids your body uses to build and repair muscle.
Vitamin B6 is a B vitamin involved in protein metabolism and nerve function. The inactive ingredients are citric acid, natural flavors, silica, sucralose, and turmeric powder.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Vitamin B6 in this product is effective for treating sideroblastic anemia and vitamin B6 deficiency, likely effective for high homocysteine levels (a cardiovascular risk marker), and possibly effective for pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting — though if you're pregnant, use it only under a doctor's guidance. We don't have effectiveness data on file for the branched-chain amino acids in this formulation, so we can't speak to their intended benefits.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Vitamin B6 is well tolerated at doses below 100 mg daily. The most common side effects at higher doses are abdominal pain, headache, heartburn, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.
At very high doses — especially 1,000 mg daily or more, or cumulative doses over 1,000 grams — it can cause nerve damage (sensory neuropathy), though this can occur even at lower doses in some people. Avoid high doses unless a clinician advises otherwise.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding data isn't on file for the amino acids in this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist if you take blood pressure medications, seizure medications (phenobarbital or phenytoin), amiodarone (Cordarone), or levodopa. These are the medication types with documented interactions with the vitamin B6 in this product.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This BCAA powder is useful if you're deficient in vitamin B6 or using it under medical supervision for a specific condition like morning sickness. If you take blood pressure medication, seizure medication, the heart drug amiodarone, or levodopa for Parkinson's, check with your pharmacist before starting — the vitamin B6 content needs a closer look at your specific doses and drugs.

BCAA Powder Lemon-Lime by Precision Engineered Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Precision Engineered BCAA Powder Lemon-Lime contains vitamin B6, which has documented interactions with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with blood pressure medications (antihypertensive drugs) — vitamin B6 may add to their effect, potentially lowering your blood pressure more than intended.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Vitamin B6 can also interact with antiarrhythmic medications like amiodarone (Cordarone), possibly increasing sun sensitivity; with seizure medications phenobarbital (Luminal) and phenytoin (Dilantin), where high doses of B6 may reduce their effectiveness; and with the Parkinson's medication levodopa (though not when taken with carbidopa as part of a combination product like Sinemet).
The other three active ingredients in this product — L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine — we could not check against our interaction data, so we cannot comment on them.

For each ingredient in BCAA Powder Lemon-Lime with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Vitamin B6
Amiodarone (Cordarone)
Theoretically, vitamin B6 might increase the photosensitivity caused by amiodarone.
Despite initial case reports suggesting that pyridoxine may have a protective effect against amiodarone-induced photosensitivity, preliminary clinical research suggests that pyridoxine may actually exacerbate this adverse effect.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, vitamin B6 may have additive effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Research in hypertensive rats shows that vitamin B6 can decrease systolic blood pressure. Similarly, clinical research in patients with hypertension shows that taking high doses of vitamin B6 may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure, possibly by reducing plasma levels of epinephrine and norepinephrine.
Phenobarbital (Luminal)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenobarbital.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenobarbital, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenobarbital to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
High doses of vitamin B6 may reduce the levels and clinical effects of phenytoin.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that vitamin B6 200 mg daily can reduce plasma levels of phenytoin, possibly by increasing metabolism. It is not known whether lower doses have any effect. Advise people taking phenytoin to avoid high doses of vitamin B6.
Levodopa
Vitamin B6 may increase the metabolism of levodopa when taken alone, but not when taken in conjunction with carbidopa.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) enhances the metabolism of levodopa, reducing its clinical effects. However, this interaction does not occur when carbidopa is used concurrently with levodopa (Sinemet). Therefore, it is not likely to be a problem in most people.
