What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Be Courageous against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Be Courageous by Nature's Sunshine Flower Essence Formula
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Be Courageous is a liquid blend of 9 ingredients, most of them flower essences. The active ingredients include organic vegetable glycerin (a naturally derived sweetener and humectant), infusions from penstemon, aspen bark, ceratostigma, blackberry leaf or root, scleranthus, mimulus, and red clover flower.
The product also contains purified water. There are no inactive fillers or binders listed.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
Our data doesn't include effectiveness ratings for most of the flower essences in this blend — penstemon, ceratostigma, scleranthus, and mimulus aren't rated for any condition in the evidence we hold. Red clover has been studied for hair loss, menopausal symptoms, joint health, and bone health, but the evidence for all four is too thin to rate.
Glycerin, the other ingredient we have data for, is likely effective for constipation and possibly effective for certain skin conditions, but it's included here in a formula aimed at emotional wellness, not those uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Overall, the ingredients here that we have safety data for are generally well tolerated. Glycerin can cause bloating, nausea, dizziness, or diarrhea in larger doses, and red clover may cause muscle pain, nausea, or vaginal spotting in some people.
Aspen carries a bigger caution: it contains aspirin-like salicylates and should be avoided in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Red clover is also best avoided during pregnancy because of its estrogen-like effects, and there isn't enough safety data to recommend it while nursing.
The other ingredients — penstemon, ceratostigma, scleranthus, and mimulus — have no safety data on file.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take aspirin or other salicylate pain relievers (Trilisate, Disalcid), estrogen-containing medications, tamoxifen, methotrexate, blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs, or medications that your liver breaks down via the CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, or CYP3A4 pathways, run those through the tool below before starting this product. Red clover accounts for the majority of these interactions; aspen is the ingredient behind the salicylate concern.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is a flower essence blend that combines several botanicals with little to no established evidence for its intended use. If you're on aspirin, salicylate-based pain relievers, estrogen therapy, tamoxifen, methotrexate, or blood thinners, you'll want to check your specific medications against our tool before taking it.
If you're pregnant or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first — aspen and red clover carry specific cautions for both. For anyone else considering it, a conversation with your own healthcare provider about whether it fits your needs is still worthwhile.

Be Courageous by Nature's Sunshine Flower Essence Formula Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Be Courageous by Nature's Sunshine Flower Essence Formula contains several flower extracts, and two of them do interact with medications.
The most serious concern is aspen, which contains aspirin-like compounds called salicylates. If you take aspirin or related salicylate drugs like choline magnesium trisalicylate (Trilisate) or salsalate (Disalcid), aspen may add to their effect — a moderate interaction.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Red clover, another ingredient here, has moderate interactions with estrogen-containing medications, tamoxifen (a cancer drug), and methotrexate (used for autoimmune conditions and cancer). Red clover also has minor interactions with several drug-metabolizing pathways in your liver and with blood thinners (anticoagulants) and antiplatelet drugs, though clinical evidence for the latter is limited.
We couldn't check purified water, penstemon, ceratostigma, scleranthus, or mimulus — we hold no data for those. Glycerin (from the vegetable kind here) and blackberry have no interactions documented in our data.
Altogether, these interactions span 872 individual medications.
