HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Coconut Vinegar 1500 by Purely Beneficial
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Coconut Vinegar 1500 contains four active ingredients. Astragalus root extract is an immune-supporting herb; aloe vera is a succulent plant traditionally used for skin and digestive support; coconut vinegar is derived from coconut; and organic coconut flour is a ground coconut product.
The product also contains methylcellulose, an inactive ingredient used as a binder and filler.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence we hold is limited. Astragalus shows insufficient reliable evidence for conditions like hay fever, asthma, anemia, and angina.
Aloe vera is possibly effective for acne, burns, constipation, psoriasis, diabetes, and weight management. Coconut vinegar and coconut flour both show insufficient evidence for diabetes, high cholesterol, weight management, and other uses.
The ingredient blend labeled 'Soothing Complex' has no effectiveness data on file.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Astragalus is generally well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, but long-term safety data in humans is limited. It's best avoided during pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to insufficient safety information.
Aloe vera's topical gel is generally well tolerated, but oral aloe latex carries greater risks—it can cause abdominal pain, cramps, and diarrhea, and long-term use may lead to potassium loss, muscle weakness, and irregular heartbeats. Avoid aloe by mouth during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Coconut is generally safe in normal food amounts, but high-dose supplements haven't been well studied—talk to your doctor before taking concentrated supplements. Allergic reactions to coconut, ranging from hives to anaphylaxis, are possible in sensitive individuals.
Meds to double-check
Major interaction found
Check with your pharmacist if you take digoxin or any heart medication (Major interaction with aloe). Also discuss if you're on blood thinners like warfarin or other anticoagulants, diabetes medications, diuretics, lithium, or immune-suppressing drugs—aloe and astragalus carry Moderate interactions with these.
Stimulant laxatives used together with aloe increase fluid and electrolyte loss.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Major medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product combines immune and digestive botanicals with coconut ingredients. If you take heart medications like digoxin, blood thinners, diabetes drugs, or lithium, you need to check with your pharmacist first.
Pregnant or breastfeeding? Skip this one—astragalus and aloe aren't recommended.
Anyone with a coconut allergy should avoid it.

For each ingredient in Coconut Vinegar 1500 with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Aloe vera
Digoxin (Lanoxin)
Theoretically, aloe latex might increase the risk of adverse effects when taken with cardiac glycosides.
Overuse of aloe latex can increase the risk of adverse effects from cardiac glycoside drugs, such as digoxin, due to potassium depletion. Overuse of aloe, along with cardiac glycoside drugs, can increase the risk of toxicity.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, aloe gel might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro research shows that aloe gel can inhibit platelet aggregation. This inhibition was greater than that seen with celecoxib, but less than that seen with aspirin.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Aloe might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Preliminary clinical research suggests aloe gel might lower blood glucose levels and have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, aloe latex might increase the risk of hypokalemia when taken with diuretic drugs.
Overuse of aloe latex might compound diuretic-induced potassium loss, increasing the risk of hypokalemia.
Stimulant Laxatives
Theoretically, aloe latex might increase the risk for fluid and electrolyte loss when taken with stimulant laxatives.
Due to cathartic laxative effects of aloe latex, concomitant use with other stimulant laxatives might compound fluid and electrolyte loss.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, aloe latex might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with warfarin.
Aloe latex has stimulant laxative effects. In some people aloe latex can cause diarrhea. Diarrhea can increase the effects of warfarin, increase international normalized ratio (INR), and increase the risk of bleeding. Advise patients who take warfarin not to take excessive amounts of aloe vera.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, aloe might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that aloe extract induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Astragalus root extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking astragalus with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research in humans shows that astragalus might have hypoglycemic effects. Theoretically, taking astragalus, especially in combination with other hypoglycemic agents, might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Cyclophosphamide
Theoretically, astragalus might interfere with cyclophosphamide therapy.
Evidence regarding the effect of astragalus on immunosuppression caused by cyclophosphamide is conflicting. Some animal research suggests that astragalus reverses cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppression. However, other animal research shows no effect.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, astragalus might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
Astragalus seems to stimulate immune function. Theoretically, taking astragalus might decrease the effects of immunosuppressive therapy.
Lithium
Theoretically, astragalus might increase levels and adverse effects of lithium.
Animal research suggests that astragalus has diuretic properties. Theoretically, due to this diuretic effect, astragalus might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium.
organic Coconut flour
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking coconut with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research suggests that coconut milk might increase insulin levels and/or decrease blood glucose levels.
