Oseni combines two medicines that lower blood sugar: alogliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor) and pioglitazone. Here's the gist of what's on file. Some animal studies hint that coconut milk might nudge blood sugar a bit lower on its own. If that effect carried over to people, layering it on top of your diabetes medicine could, in theory, add up and make your sugar drop too low.

Honestly, this is a weak, mostly theoretical concern, and everyday coconut in cooking or a coconut water now and then is very unlikely to cause a problem. If you start using large or concentrated coconut products regularly, just keep an eye out for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, or dizziness, and check in with your pharmacist or doctor before making big changes.
