Here's the gist: insulin lispro is a fast-acting insulin you inject to bring your blood sugar down, and coconut isn't going to change how your body breaks the insulin down. The concern on file is a different one. Some animal studies hint that coconut (like coconut milk) might nudge insulin levels up or lower blood sugar a bit on its own. If that effect carried over to people, layering it on top of your lispro could in theory push your sugar a little lower than expected.

Honestly, this is rated minor and unlikely, and the evidence is just lab and animal data, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Eating coconut in normal food amounts is fine. If you're using large or concentrated coconut products, just keep an eye out for low-blood-sugar signs (shakiness, sweating, dizziness) and check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
