Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Complete Omega Lemon is a liquid supplement with 5 active ingredients: eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid (two key omega-3 fatty acids), gamma-linolenic acid (an omega-6 fat), oleic acid (an omega-9 fat), and other omega-3 compounds. The formula also contains inactive ingredients — purified deep sea fish oil, borage seed oil, lemon flavoring, vitamin E (D-alpha-tocopherol), and rosemary extract — that support stability and taste.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The only ingredient in this product for which we have effectiveness data is oleic acid, which is possibly effective for high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) and for supporting heart health in coronary heart disease. For the other active ingredients — the various omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that make up the bulk of the supplement — we hold no effectiveness ratings in our data.
That doesn't mean they're ineffective; it means the evidence we have on file isn't established for those specific compounds in supplement form.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Oleic acid, the one ingredient we have safety data for, is generally recognized as safe when you eat it in normal food amounts — like the amount in olive oil. However, concentrated supplement doses of oleic acid haven't been well studied.
The safety data we hold advises caution with supplement-level doses in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. We have no adverse effects on record for oleic acid itself, though you should watch for signs of low blood sugar if you take antidiabetes medications alongside this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your antidiabetes medications (pills or insulin that lower blood sugar) before taking this product — oleic acid may increase their effect and raise the risk of low blood sugar. We could not verify interactions for most of the omega fatty acids in this supplement, so run your full medication list through the checker on this page to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
This is an omega supplement that supplies several types of fatty acids. If you take diabetes medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist first — oleic acid in this product may strengthen those drugs' blood-sugar-lowering effect.
For pregnancy, breastfeeding, or any personal health question about whether this is right for you, talk it over with your own healthcare provider before you start.

Complete Omega Lemon by Nordic Naturals Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Complete Omega Lemon by Nordic Naturals contains several omega fatty acids, and we could not check interaction data for eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid, gamma-linolenic acid, or other omega-3 fatty acids — we hold no monographs for these ingredients.
The one ingredient we did check, oleic acid, has a documented Moderate interaction with antidiabetes drugs (medications that lower blood sugar). Preliminary research suggests oleic acid may strengthen the blood-sugar-lowering effect of these medications, which could theoretically increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Altogether, these interactions span 86 individual medications. Because we cannot verify safety data for most of this product's active ingredients, and because oleic acid may affect how your antidiabetes drugs work, you'll want to check your exact medications with the tool on this page before you start.
If you take a diabetes medication, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this supplement — they can help you watch for signs of low blood sugar and adjust your dosing if needed.

Oleic Acid
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, oleic acid might increase the effects of antidiabetes drugs. Preliminary clinical research in patients with type 2 diabetes taking oral hypoglycemic drugs shows that eating a diet rich in oleic acid from olive oil decreases fasting blood glucose levels when compared to eating a diet rich in linoleic acid from sunflower oil. It is unknown if taking oleic acid supplements would have this effect or if this change is clinically significant. Until more is known, use caution. Dose adjustment may be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.
