What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: dill weed glycerite liquid extract. Dill is a culinary herb that's been studied for several potential health uses.
The remaining ingredients—glycerin and mint flavor—are inactive ingredients that serve as the base and flavoring for the liquid formula.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold doesn't establish that dill weed is effective for any of the conditions it's been studied for—aging skin, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), labor pain, and painful menstrual periods (dysmenorrhea) all show insufficient reliable evidence. That doesn't mean it doesn't work; it means we don't yet have solid research backing these uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Dill is generally well tolerated when you use it in food amounts. However, the safety of medicinal doses hasn't been thoroughly studied.
Some people are allergic to dill—reactions can range from mild itching and rash to serious symptoms like swelling around the eyes and, in rare cases, anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction). If you handle fresh dill plants, sun exposure can cause a skin reaction (photodermatosis), and direct contact can cause contact dermatitis.
The safety data available advises against dill in pregnancy.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist or doctor before using this product if you take antidiabetes drugs (glimepiride, glyburide, and others)—dill may increase your risk of low blood sugar. Also check if you take lithium—dill may raise lithium levels in your blood.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're looking to try dill for a specific health reason, know that the evidence doesn't yet support its use for the conditions it's been studied for. If you take diabetes medication or lithium, do not start this product without checking with your pharmacist or doctor first—dose adjustments might be needed.
If you have a known allergy to dill or related plants, avoid it.

Dill Weed Mint Flavor by TerraVita Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Dill Weed Mint Flavor by TerraVita contains a single active ingredient—dill weed glycerite liquid extract—that does interact with certain medications.
The most serious concern is with antidiabetes drugs (such as glimepiride and glyburide). Because dill extract can lower blood sugar levels on its own, taking it alongside diabetes medication might cause your blood sugar to drop too low (low blood sugar, or hypoglycemia).
You'll need to monitor your blood glucose closely, and your doctor may need to adjust your diabetes medication dose.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Dill also has diuretic properties—it acts like a water pill. If you take lithium (a mood stabilizer), dill might reduce how your body clears it, which could raise lithium levels in your blood.
Your lithium dose might need adjusting too.
Additionally, some ingredients in this product (glycerin and mint flavor) were not checked for interactions because we hold no monograph data for them. Always run your exact medications through the checker on this page before you start.
Altogether, these interactions span 86 individual medications.
