The product also contains inactive ingredients including gelatin, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silica, titanium dioxide, and food colorings (Red 40, Blue 1) as binders, fillers, and capsule material.

Not established
The evidence for astaxanthin is insufficient to reliably rate it for age-related cognitive decline, macular degeneration, aging skin, Alzheimer disease, athletic performance, or carpal tunnel syndrome — meaning we don't yet have solid data on whether it works for these purposes. For saw palmetto, the data suggests it may be ineffective for benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) and possibly effective for symptoms following prostate surgery (transurethral resection of the prostate).
Evidence is insufficient for chronic bronchitis, hair loss, and other lower urinary tract symptoms.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Astaxanthin is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety data are limited. The most common side effects are abdominal pain, diarrhea, and red-colored stools; higher doses have occasionally caused severe stomach pain.
Saw palmetto is also well tolerated with mild, infrequent, and reversible side effects — most commonly abdominal pain, constipation, decreased libido, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, rhinitis, and vomiting. Rarely, cases of heart rhythm changes and skin reactions (fixed drug eruptions) have been reported.
Neither astaxanthin nor saw palmetto has adequate safety data in pregnancy, so both should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Because of possible hormonal effects and lack of safety information, saw palmetto is rated as likely unsafe in pregnancy and should not be used while breastfeeding.

Cytochrome P450 2B6 (Cyp2B6) Substrates
Theoretically, astaxanthin may decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2B6.
In vitro research shows that astaxanthin induces cytochrome CYP2B6 enzyme activity in human hepatocytes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, astaxanthin may decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that astaxanthin induces CYP3A4 enzyme activity in human hepatocytes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Saw Palmetto berry lipid extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Saw palmetto might increase the risk of bleeding with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Saw palmetto is reported to prolong bleeding time. Theoretically, it might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Contraceptive Drugs
Saw palmetto might reduce the effectiveness of contraceptive drugs.
Saw palmetto might have antiestrogenic effects. Theoretically, it might interfere with contraceptive drugs taken concomitantly.
Estrogens
Saw palmetto might reduce the effectiveness of estrogens.
Saw palmetto might have antiestrogenic effects. Theoretically, it might interfere with estrogens taken concomitantly.
