The evidence for HMF Intensive rests on its individual probiotic strains. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis; it's rated possibly ineffective for atopic disease, and we don't have enough reliable evidence to rate it for acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis is possibly effective for respiratory tract infections, IBS, and constipation. These ratings mean there's some supporting evidence, but it's not conclusive—more research is often needed to be certain.

Both Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. The most common side effect you might notice is diarrhea, along with occasional bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, or other mild digestive discomfort—but these are uncommon.
In rare cases, probiotics have been linked to serious infections in some people; this risk appears to increase if your immune system is already compromised. Since evidence is limited, talk with your doctor before starting this product.
For pregnancy, Lactobacillus acidophilus is rated possibly safe, though data aren't complete. We don't have enough pregnancy or lactation safety data on file for Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
