Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Honeysuckle product and its label doesn't state a use — see Honeysuckle's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence supporting honeysuckle for age-related cognitive decline, respiratory tract infections, eczema, diabetes, and dyspepsia is insufficient to rate its reliability. We don't have strong clinical data on this product for these uses in our available monographs.

How safe is it?

Some data gaps
Safety Information · database check
Some gaps

Safety data exists for these ingredients, but with some important gaps.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 0 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Honeysuckle is often used as a tea with few reported problems, but high-quality safety data in humans is limited. A case report linked topical honeysuckle to contact dermatitis, and one documented case of allergic drug eruption occurred after very high oral doses (30 grams over 24 hours in honeysuckle granules); symptoms resolved when the product was stopped and the person received antihistamines and steroids.

There isn't enough safety information to recommend honeysuckle during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you.

Moderate interaction found

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Honeysuckle.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 122 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take any anticoagulant (blood thinner) or antiplatelet drug—including warfarin, apixaban, aspirin, clopidogrel, and 118 others—check your specific medication before taking this product. Honeysuckle may increase bleeding risk with these drugs.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.

Honeysuckle may be worth considering if you're exploring traditional herbal support, but it's mainly for people who don't take blood thinners. If you're on any anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, check with your pharmacist first.

And since safety data in humans is limited, it's a good idea to discuss it with your healthcare provider before you start.

Honeysuckle Flower 450 mg by TerraVita Premium Collection: Common Questions

Does Honeysuckle Flower 450 mg by TerraVita Premium Collection interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Honeysuckle Flower 450 mg has a known interaction with 122 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Honeysuckle Flower 450 mg contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is honeysuckle safe during pregnancy?
There isn't enough safety information to recommend it during pregnancy. It's best to avoid it and talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your options.
Is honeysuckle safe while breastfeeding?
There isn't enough safety information available while breastfeeding. It's best to avoid it and discuss alternatives with your doctor or pharmacist.
Can honeysuckle cause side effects?
It's generally well tolerated. One case of allergic drug eruption (a rash-like reaction) was reported after a very high dose of honeysuckle granules, and topical application has been linked to contact dermatitis. Most people taking normal oral doses haven't reported problems.
Does honeysuckle work for respiratory infections or eczema?
The evidence supporting honeysuckle for respiratory tract infections, eczema, diabetes, and other conditions is insufficient to rate reliably. We don't have strong clinical data to say whether it works for these uses.
Why does this product interact with so many blood thinners?
Honeysuckle contains polyphenols that can inhibit platelet aggregation—the clumping of blood cells that stops bleeding. Blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs already work on this system, so combining them may increase bleeding risk. That's why the interaction spans multiple medications in that category.
