K Alkaline Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking K Alkaline against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Full disclosure
K Alkaline contains one active ingredient: potassium. The capsule also includes inactive ingredients — cellulose, silicon dioxide, and L-leucine — which are binders and flow agents that help the supplement hold its shape and move through the manufacturing process.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The product facts we hold don't include effectiveness data for potassium supplementation, so we can't speak to how well it works for any particular purpose.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Potassium from food is fine, but supplements can cause dangerously high blood levels in some people, especially those with kidney disease — that's why medical supervision matters. Oral potassium is generally well tolerated, though some people experience abdominal pain, belching, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, or vomiting.
In rare cases, very high potassium levels can trigger irregular heartbeats, low blood pressure, or even cardiac arrest. During pregnancy, dietary potassium is appropriate, but use supplements only under medical guidance.
If you're breastfeeding, check with your doctor before taking potassium supplements. The data rates potassium as likely safe in pregnancy and lactation when used appropriately, but a healthcare provider needs to clear it for your situation.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your pharmacist if you take potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or ARBs. These Moderate-severity interactions can raise your potassium to dangerous levels.
Altogether, these interactions span 62 individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Potassium supplements make sense if your doctor or pharmacist recommends one — but they're not a casual add-on. If you take blood pressure or heart medications, especially those that preserve potassium, talk to your pharmacist before you start.
Kidney function matters too, so bring up any kidney concerns.

K Alkaline by Moss Nutrition Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
K Alkaline by Moss Nutrition contains potassium, which interacts with several common blood pressure and heart medications.
The most serious concern is potassium-sparing diuretics (water pills that preserve potassium) — using them together can raise your potassium to dangerous levels, a condition called hyperkalemia. This is a Moderate severity interaction.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
ACE inhibitors and ARBs (both blood pressure medications that work on the renin-angiotensin system) carry the same Moderate risk when combined with potassium supplements. These drugs slow how your kidneys get rid of potassium, so adding a supplement on top can push levels too high.
Hyperkalemia isn't just uncomfortable — it can cause irregular heartbeats, low blood pressure, and confusion. If you take any of these medications, check your exact drugs with the search tool on this page before starting potassium supplements.

For each ingredient in K Alkaline with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Potassium
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Using ACEIs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ACEIs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (Arbs)
Using ARBs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ARBs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Potassium-Sparing Diuretics
Concomitant use increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Using potassium-sparing diuretics with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
