Both choline and phosphatidylcholine are generally well tolerated at normal doses. Choline can cause a fishy body odor at any dose due to how your body breaks it down.

At very high doses (9 grams daily or more), choline may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and sweating. Phosphatidylcholine at typical doses may cause bloating, diarrhea, altered taste, nausea, or vomiting; these side effects are more likely at very high intakes (30 grams daily).

At the 1,200 mg dose in this product, these high-dose effects are unlikely. Pregnancy and lactation: choline is important during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but the safety of taking supplements beyond food sources isn't well studied — talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you.

Theoretically, choline might decrease the effects of atropine in the brain.
Animal research shows that administering choline one hour before administering atropine can attenuate atropine-induced decreases in brain levels of acetylcholine. Theoretically, concomitant use of choline and atropine may decrease the effects of atropine.
