What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product is just lemon powder—a single active ingredient with no other fillers or inactive components listed. Lemon powder is a concentrated form of lemon, used to provide the flavor and compounds found in the whole fruit.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold rates lemon powder as having insufficient reliable evidence for several conditions people ask about: hay fever, anxiety, respiratory tract infections, high blood pressure, and kidney stones. That means the research backing these uses isn't established enough for us to say whether it works.
If you're considering it for one of these reasons, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist about what the current science shows.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lemon as food or drink in normal amounts is generally well tolerated. However, when taken as a concentrated supplement in larger amounts, a small number of trial participants reported gastrointestinal side effects—specifically heartburn and upper abdominal pain (epigastralgia)—at higher rates than placebo.
The facts note that safety data on concentrated supplements or essential oils of lemon hasn't been thoroughly studied, so avoid those forms unless your doctor approves. Medicinal amounts haven't been well evaluated either.
No pregnancy or lactation safety data is on file for lemon powder. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding and want to use it, talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
If you take itraconazole (Sporanox), an antifungal medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting lemon powder—it may raise the drug's levels in your body. No interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check with other medications, but always confirm your exact medications on this page first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
Lemon powder is a single-ingredient product from a concentrated form of lemon. Most of the conditions it's promoted for lack solid evidence.
If you take itraconazole (an antifungal), be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. For anyone else, the main concern is that larger amounts may cause stomach upset or heartburn in some people.
