What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Lycopene Complex against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Lycopene Complex by Absonutrix
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Absonutrix Lycopene Complex is a liquid that contains 3 active ingredients: water, lycopene, and ethanol. Lycopene is a red-orange plant pigment — it's the compound that gives tomatoes and red peppers their color.
It's also a carotenoid (a type of antioxidant your body can use). The product also contains inactive ingredients: potassium sorbate (a preservative), stevia (a sweetener), and peppermint oil for flavor.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for lycopene varies by health condition. It's possibly effective for prostate cancer.
For other conditions — bladder cancer and diabetes — the evidence suggests it may not work. For high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), exercise-induced asthma, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), we don't have enough reliable evidence yet to know whether lycopene helps.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lycopene from food is considered safe, and supplement doses are generally well tolerated. Gastrointestinal side effects are possible with supplements — these include diarrhea, gas, bloating, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, and loss of appetite.
One case of chest pain was reported in a pregnant patient taking a lycopene product, but it's unclear whether lycopene caused it. Lycopene supplements are not well studied in pregnancy, so the safety data advises against using them unless your doctor advises otherwise.
For breastfeeding, there isn't enough data to know either way — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Double-check this product if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs — such as warfarin, apixaban, clopidogrel, or aspirin used for clot prevention. Lycopene might increase bleeding risk when combined with these.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Lycopene Complex is worth considering if you're interested in prostate health and don't take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first — the safety data isn't solid enough to go it alone.
