Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 2 active ingredients: lycopene and lutein. Lycopene is a red pigment (carotenoid) found in tomatoes and other red fruits, and lutein is a yellow pigment (xanthophyll carotenoid) found in leafy greens and other vegetables.
Both are plant compounds your body doesn't make on its own, so they come from diet or supplements. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — cellulose, silica, magnesium stearate, and rice flour — which help hold and deliver the active ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Lycopene is possibly effective for prostate cancer, but the evidence is considered possibly ineffective for bladder cancer and diabetes. For high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), exercise-triggered asthma, and ALS, there is not enough reliable evidence to rate it either way.
Lutein is possibly effective for age-related macular degeneration (vision loss as you age) and cataracts. For retinitis pigmentosa, vision problems in premature infants, and two other rare eye and lung conditions, it is considered possibly ineffective, and the evidence is insufficient for the remaining conditions listed in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lycopene from food is considered safe, and supplement doses are generally well tolerated. However, if you're pregnant, the safety data on lycopene supplements is limited — food amounts are fine, but talk with your doctor before taking a supplement.
The same goes for breastfeeding: food amounts are okay, but there isn't enough safety data on supplement doses. Lutein from food and typical supplement doses is generally well tolerated — doses up to 20 mg daily have not caused adverse effects in trials.
For pregnancy and breastfeeding, lutein is considered likely safe. Lycopene and lutein supplements can cause mild digestive side effects, including diarrhea, gas, bloating, nausea, vomiting, or indigestion in some people.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take any anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication — including prescription blood thinners like warfarin or dabigatran, or over-the-counter aspirin — check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this product. Lycopene may increase the bleeding risk when combined with these medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may be worth considering if you're interested in eye health (lutein) or prostate support (lycopene), though the evidence for these uses is modest. If you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs, you'll need to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting — lycopene can theoretically increase bleeding risk.
Talk it over with your healthcare provider to see if it fits your health plan.

Lycopene & Lutein Complex 50 mg by NusaPure Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Lycopene & Lutein Complex by NusaPure contains lycopene, which has documented interactions with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (medications that reduce clotting).
Altogether, these interactions span 122 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Lycopene may theoretically increase bleeding risk when combined with anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs. Laboratory research shows lycopene has antiplatelet properties — meaning it can affect how blood clots — so adding it to a medication that already thins your blood or reduces platelet stickiness needs to be checked first.
Lutein, the other active ingredient, has no interactions documented in our data.
If you take any blood thinner or antiplatelet medication — whether prescription or over-the-counter (like aspirin) — run it through the medication checker below or talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.
