Mesoglycan Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by EuroMedica
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Mesoglycan against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Mesoglycan by EuroMedica
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains a single active ingredient: mesoglycan, a naturally derived compound. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, silica, and an organic rice extract blend — which serve as binders and fillers.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Mesoglycan is possibly effective for cerebrovascular disease, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), and venous leg ulcers. For venous blood clots (VTE) and stroke prevention, the evidence suggests it's possibly ineffective.
The strength of these ratings means the research is mixed or limited, so talk with your doctor about whether it's a reasonable option for your specific condition.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Mesoglycan is generally well tolerated by mouth in studies. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn, diarrhea, headache, and skin reactions.
One concern: mesoglycan is made from animal tissue collected from slaughterhouses, and there's a potential risk of contamination from diseased organs, though this is not confirmed as a widespread problem. During pregnancy, there isn't enough safety data, so it's best avoided.
The same applies to breastfeeding — safety is unknown. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Double-check before starting mesoglycan if you take any blood thinners (anticoagulants) such as warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel, enoxaparin, or heparin, or any clot-dissolving drugs (thrombolytics) — the interaction severity is Moderate. Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you whether the combination is safe for you.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Mesoglycan may be worth considering if you have peripheral artery disease, cerebrovascular disease, or venous leg ulcers and your doctor agrees it's appropriate. If you take any blood thinner or clot-dissolving medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist first — the interaction risk is real, even if the mechanism is unclear.
Avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Mesoglycan by EuroMedica Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
EuroMedica's Mesoglycan can interact with blood thinners (anticoagulants) and clot-dissolving drugs (thrombolytics), both at Moderate severity.
The concern is theoretically increased bleeding risk, though human evidence suggests mesoglycan works differently than typical blood thinners — it has profibrinolytic activity without affecting coagulation itself. Still, combining it with aspirin, warfarin (Coumadin), clopidogrel (Plavix), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, dalteparin (Fragmin), ticlopidine (Ticlid), and other anticoagulants warrants caution.
The same applies to thrombolytic drugs like alteplase (Activase), streptokinase (Streptase), reteplase (Retevase), anistreplase (Eminase), and urokinase (Abbokinase).

Altogether, these interactions span 122 individual medications. If you take any blood thinner or clot-dissolving medication, check your exact drugs with the search tool on this page before starting mesoglycan, and confirm with your doctor or pharmacist that the combination is right for you.
