Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 2 of its 2 active ingredients.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains two active ingredients: Mexican Yam extract and adrenal concentrate. Mexican Yam extract is derived from wild yam root, traditionally used for various women's health concerns.

The product also contains several inactive ingredients — gelatin, cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silica — which serve as the capsule and binding material.

The strongest graded evidence we hold for the stated purpose leans against a benefit.

Why this rating?

  • The closest evidence on file: Wild Yam is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Menopausal symptoms (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Wild Yam is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Postmenopausal conditions, Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), Dysmenorrhea.

The evidence for wild yam in this product is mixed and largely inconclusive. For menopausal symptoms, the research suggests it is possibly ineffective.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with graded evidence leaning against its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Mexican Wild Yam Root may be worth considering if you're interested in traditional herbal support, but understand the evidence for its effectiveness is weak or absent for most uses. The real concern here is the potential interaction with estrogen or hormone medications — if you take any hormone therapy, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this.

For short-term use in otherwise healthy adults, it's generally tolerated, but avoid it in pregnancy and while nursing.
