OptiProstate XTS has four active ingredients. Omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids are essential fats your body needs — they support cell function and other processes.
Organic pumpkin seed oil and organic saw palmetto extract are plant-based ingredients traditionally used for prostate and urinary health support. The softgel capsule also contains inactive ingredients like glycerin, modified corn starch, red marine algae, sorbitol, purified water, and an O2B botanical peroxidation blocker — these are fillers and binders that hold the product together and protect the active ingredients.

Saw palmetto is possibly effective for transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), but the evidence for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — a common reason people take saw palmetto — is rated possibly ineffective. For androgenic alopecia (hair loss) and lower urinary tract symptoms, the evidence we hold is insufficient to rate it either way.
Omega-6 fatty acids are rated possibly ineffective for high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, multiple sclerosis, and child development — so don't count on them for those purposes. We don't have effectiveness data on file for omega-9 fatty acids or organic pumpkin seed oil.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Saw palmetto is generally well tolerated, but mild side effects do occur: abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, and decreased libido are the most common. Rarely, it's been reported with heart rhythm changes and blood pressure effects — if you have a heart condition, mention it to your pharmacist.
Omega-6 fatty acids from food are fine, but supplement safety isn't well established, especially at high doses or when your omega-6 to omega-3 ratio gets out of balance — talk with your doctor before starting. Saw palmetto is not safe in pregnancy or while breastfeeding due to hormone effects and lack of safety data.

Saw palmetto might increase the risk of bleeding with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
