Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: organic graviola leaf extract. Graviola is a tropical plant traditionally used in herbal medicine, though the science behind most of its claimed uses remains incomplete.

The liquid extract also includes organic vegetable glycerin, organic graviola, and purified water as inactive ingredients.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

We hold no graded evidence for this product's ingredients for its stated purpose.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: supports healthy cell regeneration and calm relaxation.
  • We looked for evidence on: stress, anxiety, relaxation.
  • Our graded evidence for these ingredients doesn't cover that particular purpose.

The evidence we hold on graviola leaf extract is not established for any of its common uses. The data rates it as having insufficient reliable evidence for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, headache, male infertility, and insect repellent purposes — which means there simply isn't enough solid human research to say whether it works or doesn't.

If you're considering this product for a specific health goal, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist to explore what the science actually supports.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Here's what you need to know: regular graviola consumption may not be safe long-term. The most common side effects reported in studies are nausea and burning pain in the upper belly (epigastrium), and a small number of people have experienced serious effects like movement disorders and nerve damage (myeloneuropathy) that resemble Parkinson disease symptoms.

One large study found that even low cumulative amounts of graviola fruit, juice, or herbal tea worsened motor and cognitive symptoms in people who already had Parkinson disease. The safety data are limited overall, and lab work raises concerns about possible nerve toxicity with continued use.

This product should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The safety information is too sparse to know whether it's safe for either, and the data that does exist advises against it.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Graviola.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 1 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take carbamazepine (Tegretol) for seizures or nerve pain, do not use this product without checking with your doctor first — graviola may reduce how well the medication works. No other medication interactions are documented in our data for the ingredients we could check, but that does not mean none exist; use the search tool on this page to verify your exact drugs.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

This is a single-ingredient supplement with very limited human safety and effectiveness data behind it. It's not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it can lower levels of the seizure drug carbamazepine, making that medication less effective.

Before you take it — especially if you're on any prescription medication or have Parkinson disease or movement concerns — talk with your doctor or pharmacist to make sure it's right for your individual situation.

Original Graviola Leaf Liquid Extract by Herbal Goodness: Common Questions

Does Original Graviola Leaf Liquid Extract by Herbal Goodness interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Original Graviola Leaf Liquid Extract has a known interaction with 1 medication. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Original Graviola Leaf Liquid Extract contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. The safety data are insufficient, and what information exists advises against use during both pregnancy and breastfeeding. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
What side effects should I watch for?
The most common are nausea and burning pain in the upper belly. Rarely, people have reported serious nerve and movement problems that look like Parkinson disease symptoms. If you develop any unusual muscle movements, stiffness, or cognitive changes, stop and contact your doctor right away.
Does graviola actually work for HPV, headaches, or male fertility?
The human evidence isn't there yet. We rate all of those uses as having insufficient reliable evidence — meaning the research just hasn't been done or isn't strong enough to say yes or no. If you're using it for one of those reasons, talk with your doctor about proven options too.
Is this safe to use long-term?
The data suggest caution with regular use. Lab studies raise concerns about possible nerve damage with continued consumption, and human safety information is limited. It's not something to take indefinitely without checking with your doctor first.
What's actually in the bottle?
The active ingredient is organic graviola leaf extract. It also contains organic vegetable glycerin, organic graviola, and purified water as the liquid base and other inactive ingredients.
