What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: phosphatidylserine 100 mg per softgel. Phosphatidylserine is a compound naturally found in cell membranes throughout the body, particularly in the brain.
The softgel is made with gelatin, glycerin, purified water, and sorbitol as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Phosphatidylserine is possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer disease based on the data we hold. For athletic performance, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), general cognitive function, and dementia, the evidence available isn't strong enough for us to rate it one way or the other.
If you're interested in trying it for any of these purposes, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist to see if it fits your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety isn't fully established. The most common side effects are flatulence, gastrointestinal upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea.
Insomnia is more likely at higher doses (around 600 mg), and gastrointestinal upset can occur at doses of 200–300 mg per day. There isn't enough safety data to know whether phosphatidylserine is safe during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
If you're pregnant, nursing, or planning either, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check your medications with your doctor or pharmacist if you take anticholinergic drugs (for dry mouth, urinary retention, or overactive bladder) or cholinergic drugs (for myasthenia gravis or Alzheimer disease) — both Moderate-severity concerns. Phosphatidylserine may affect how these work.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Phosphatidyl Serine might help with age-related memory changes or early Alzheimer disease, though the evidence is modest. If you take anticholinergic or cholinergic medications, check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting — this product could theoretically interfere with how they work.
Most people who take it tolerate it well, but watch for nausea, stomach upset, or sleep trouble. Have a conversation with your own healthcare provider to see if it makes sense for you.

Phosphatidyl Serine 100 mg by Bluebonnet Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Phosphatidyl Serine by Bluebonnet interacts with anticholinergic and cholinergic drugs through its phosphatidylserine content.
The most serious concern is a Moderate-severity effect on anticholinergic drugs (medications that reduce nerve signal activity) — phosphatidylserine is thought to increase acetylcholine levels, which could theoretically decrease how well these drugs work.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Phosphatidylserine may also have Moderate-severity additive effects with cholinergic drugs (medications that increase nerve signal activity). Because phosphatidylserine raises acetylcholine levels, combining it with cholinergic agents could theoretically strengthen their effects beyond what either would do alone.
Altogether, these interactions span 219 individual medications. Before you start this product, run your exact prescriptions through the interaction checker on this page — especially if you take anything for dry mouth, urinary retention, overactive bladder, myasthenia gravis, or Alzheimer's disease.
