What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: phosphatidylserine, a compound found naturally in cell membranes throughout your body. It's derived from plant sources and supplied here as a powder.
There are no other inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Phosphatidylserine is possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer disease, based on the data we hold. For athletic performance, cognitive function, ADHD, and dementia, the evidence isn't established enough to rate it either way.
If you're considering this supplement for one of those other uses, there's not yet a solid scientific case we can point to.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth, but long-term safety hasn't been fully studied. The most common side effects are flatulence, stomach upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea—and insomnia is more likely at higher doses around 600 mg.
Gastrointestinal upset can show up at 200–300 mg per day. There isn't enough safety data for pregnancy, so it's best to avoid it if you're pregnant.
Safety while breastfeeding is also unknown, so avoidance is recommended during that time too. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take anticholinergic drugs (used for overactive bladder, motion sickness, or other conditions) or cholinergic drugs (used to boost acetylcholine activity), double-check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this product. Both types have Moderate interactions with phosphatidylserine.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Phosphatidyl Serine Powder may help with age-related cognitive decline or Alzheimer disease, but the evidence for other brain or performance uses isn't clear yet. If you take anticholinergic or cholinergic medications, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.
It's generally well tolerated but can cause stomach upset or sleep issues at higher doses.

Phosphatidylserine, Powder monograph & interactionsPhosphatidyl Serine Powder by Herbadiet Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Phosphatidyl Serine Powder by Herbadiet interacts with two medication types through its single active ingredient, phosphatidylserine.
The most serious concern is a Moderate-level interaction with anticholinergic drugs—medications used for conditions like overactive bladder and certain types of poisoning. Phosphatidylserine is thought to increase acetylcholine (a brain chemical), which could theoretically decrease how well these drugs work.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
It also has a Moderate interaction with cholinergic drugs, which work by boosting acetylcholine activity. Combined with phosphatidylserine, these drugs might have additive effects—meaning the acetylcholine boost could be stronger than intended.
Altogether, these interactions span 219 individual medications.
If you take any anticholinergic or cholinergic medication, check your exact drugs with the tool on this page before starting phosphatidylserine. Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you whether it's safe for you or if timing adjustments might help.
