What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Phosphatidylserine Complex against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product has one active ingredient: phosphatidylserine (as Sharp-PS Green). Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid — a type of fat found naturally in your cell membranes — that plays a role in cell signaling and brain function.
The softgel capsule also contains inactive ingredients: gelatin, glycerin, purified water, silica, mixed tocopherols, and ascorbyl palmitate. These are excipients that help form and preserve the capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Phosphatidylserine is possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer disease, based on the data we hold. For athletic performance, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), general cognitive function, and dementia, the evidence is insufficient to rate whether it works.
If you're considering it for one of those conditions, talk it over with your doctor about what the research actually supports for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety hasn't been fully established. The most common side effects are flatulence, gastrointestinal upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea.
Insomnia is more likely at higher doses (600 mg or more), and stomach upset can occur at doses of 200–300 mg per day. There isn't enough safety data to know whether it's safe in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
The safety information on file advises against use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice if either applies to you.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check any anticholinergic drugs you use (such as medicines for overactive bladder, certain antihistamines, or some antispasmodics) and any cholinergic drugs (such as some Alzheimer medications). Both interact at Moderate severity.
Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you whether the combination is safe for you.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Phosphatidylserine may be worth considering if you're dealing with age-related cognitive decline or early Alzheimer disease and want to explore it alongside conventional care. If you take anticholinergic or cholinergic drugs, check your medications first — the interactions are theoretical but documented.
Avoid it in pregnancy and while breastfeeding unless your doctor says otherwise. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it makes sense for you.

Phosphatidylserine Complex by Country Life Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Country Life's Phosphatidylserine Complex, containing Sharp-PS Green phosphatidylserine, does interact with two medication categories.
The most serious concern is with anticholinergic drugs (Moderate severity) — medications that block acetylcholine activity. Phosphatidylserine may increase acetylcholine levels, which could theoretically reduce how well these drugs work.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The second category is cholinergic drugs (Moderate severity) — medications that boost acetylcholine. Phosphatidylserine might add to their effects, which could lead to too much cholinergic activity.
Altogether, these interactions span 219 individual medications.
Neither interaction is proven in real-world use — they're based on how phosphatidylserine is thought to work. That said, if you take anticholinergic or cholinergic drugs, check your exact medications with the search tool on this page before you start.
