Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: potassium iodide, a source of supplemental potassium. The tablet also includes several inactive ingredients — dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate — which are standard binders and fillers that help hold the tablet together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The data we hold does not include an effectiveness rating for potassium iodide in this product. We can't tell you whether it works for any particular purpose based on the facts available to us.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Potassium from food is fine, but supplements can cause dangerously high blood levels in some people, especially those with kidney disease. The most common side effects from oral potassium are stomach upset — abdominal pain, belching, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.
Rare but serious effects include irregular heartbeat, heart block, low blood pressure (hypotension), and confusion; these happen when potassium climbs too high. During pregnancy, dietary potassium is appropriate, but use supplements only under medical guidance.
The same caution applies while breastfeeding — check with your doctor before taking a potassium supplement. There's also a rare risk of bleeding duodenal ulcers from slow-release potassium tablets.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications before taking this supplement, especially if you take potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) — all carry a Moderate risk of raising potassium dangerously high. If you're unsure whether your blood pressure or heart medication falls into one of these categories, ask your pharmacist or doctor.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is for people whose doctor has identified a genuine potassium deficit and approved supplementation — not for self-treating a hunch. If you take any blood pressure or heart medication, have kidney disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
They'll weigh the benefit against your personal kidney function and medication list.

Potassium Iodide by Nature's Vision Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Potassium Iodide by Nature's Vision can interact with several blood pressure and heart medications.
The most serious concern is with potassium-sparing diuretics (water pills that preserve potassium), ACE inhibitors, and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) — all carry a Moderate risk of raising your potassium to dangerously high levels (hyperkalemia). This happens because these drugs reduce how much potassium your body excretes, and adding a supplement on top can push levels too high.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Additionally, these three drug types work through the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and are commonly prescribed for high blood pressure and heart conditions. If you take any of them — especially at higher doses — this supplement could tip your potassium balance into dangerous territory.
Altogether, these interactions span 62 individual medications.
Before you start this product, run your exact medications through the tool on this page. If you take a blood pressure or heart medication, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first — they'll know whether your kidneys are clearing potassium normally and whether a supplement is safe for you.

Potassium Iodide
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Using ACEIs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ACEIs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (Arbs)
Using ARBs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ARBs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Potassium-Sparing Diuretics
Concomitant use increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Using potassium-sparing diuretics with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
