Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 2 active ingredients: Lactobacillus rhamnosus R0011 and Lactobacillus helveticus R0052, both live probiotic bacteria strains. They're delivered in a capsule with several inactive ingredients including potato starch, cellulose, magnesium stearate, and others that help form and preserve the capsule.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for Lactobacillus helveticus hasn't been reliably established in our data. We have insufficient evidence to rate it for hay fever, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, cognitive function, depression, rotaviral diarrhea, and exercise-induced respiratory infections.
We hold no effectiveness ratings for Lactobacillus rhamnosus R0011.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus helveticus is generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, the safety data is limited.
If you're seriously ill, immunocompromised, or pregnant or nursing, you'll want to talk with your doctor before starting — we don't have enough reliable safety information to guide you on your own. There's a theoretical concern that live probiotic organisms might cause infection in some patients, particularly those with weakened immunity, though this is uncommon.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotics, you'll want to separate the timing of your doses from this probiotic — the antibiotic can reduce how well the live bacteria work. No other interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check, but we have no data for one of the two bacterial strains.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a pregnancy-focused probiotic with limited evidence for how well it works. If you're pregnant, nursing, have a weak immune system, or are seriously ill, check with your doctor first.
Anyone taking antibiotics should space out their doses from this product. Run your medications through the tool below before you start.
