Both ingredients are generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but inulin commonly causes gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and cramping — especially at higher doses. Rarely, inulin can trigger a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) in people sensitive to it.
