HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Probiotics Acid Reflux 25 Billion CFU by Herbs SRA
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 3 active ingredients: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, and Lactobacillus gasseri — all live probiotic bacteria. Together they deliver 25 billion colony-forming units (CFU), a standard measure of viable organisms.
The capsule also contains cellulose as an inactive ingredient.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence varies by ingredient and condition. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis, but possibly ineffective for atopic disease.
For Lactobacillus gasseri, the evidence we hold is insufficient to rate — we don't yet have reliable data on whether it works for allergic rhinitis, aspirin-related stomach damage, asthma, bacterial vaginosis, common cold, or diarrhea. We hold no effectiveness data for Bifidobacterium animalis lactis.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. The main safety note is that because it contains live organisms, there is a theoretical risk of serious infection in some patients — cases of bacteremia, sepsis, and other deep infections have been documented, though they're thought to occur mainly through bacterial translocation in people with underlying conditions.
Mild gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, gas, abdominal discomfort, or diarrhea can happen but are uncommon. Lactobacillus gasseri is also generally well tolerated, but safety data are limited; the same concern about live organisms and potential infection applies.
Since evidence is limited for both, check with your doctor before starting this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, double-check the timing with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product — taking them together may reduce how well the probiotics work. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
We could not check Bifidobacterium animalis lactis for interactions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic may be worth considering if you're dealing with irritable bowel syndrome or antibiotic-associated diarrhea and want to try Lactobacillus acidophilus specifically — it has some supporting evidence for those uses. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to space them apart from this product to keep the live organisms alive.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before you start, especially if you have a weakened immune system or serious underlying illness.

Probiotics Acid Reflux 25 Billion CFU by Herbs SRA Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Probiotics Acid Reflux 25 Billion CFU by Herbs SRA contains two active probiotic ingredients — Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus gasseri — that both interact with antibiotic drugs.
The most serious documented concern is Moderate: antibiotics taken at the same time may kill off the live organisms in these probiotics, reducing their effectiveness. Since these preparations contain live, active bacteria, taking them alongside antibiotics can significantly decrease the number of organisms that survive.
