HelloPharmacist Scorecard of ParasiteCleaner by Herbs SRA
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
ParasiteCleaner contains five active ingredients. Clove powder and neem are traditional antiparasitic herbs; wormwood powder is classically used for gastrointestinal parasites; papaya powder has been studied for parasite support; and black walnut powder rounds out the blend.
The product also contains cellulose as an inactive ingredient (a binding agent).
Does it work?
Insufficient evidence
The evidence for these ingredients against parasitic infections isn't well established in our data. Clove shows possibly effective evidence for ventilator-associated pneumonia only, and insufficient evidence for cough, pain, or indigestion.
Neem is possibly effective for gingivitis, lice, and dental plaque, but has insufficient evidence for acne. Papaya, wormwood, and black walnut all have insufficient evidence for their listed uses.
If you're considering this product for a specific parasitic concern, talk with your pharmacist or doctor about whether the research supports it for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Clove is well tolerated as a food spice but concentrated supplements can be irritating or toxic at high doses; clove oil at just 5–10 mL can be toxic in children, and serious side effects like liver failure are rare but reported. Neem leaf preparations are likely safe short-term for most adults, but neem oil and seed extracts can cause serious harm if swallowed; it should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Papaya fruit is generally safe in normal amounts, but unripe papaya, papaya latex, and seeds carry safety concerns, and large amounts are cautioned against in pregnancy. Wormwood contains thujone, a neurotoxin—short-term use of properly prepared products may be acceptable, but it should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding, and serious side effects like seizures and kidney toxicity are possible.
Black walnut has limited human safety data and should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding; the leaf, bark, and hull can cause gastrointestinal upset due to high tannin content.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking ParasiteCleaner, double-check your medications if you're on antidiabetes drugs (insulin, metformin, others), blood thinners like warfarin, heart medications such as amiodarone, thyroid drugs like levothyroxine, seizure medications (anticonvulsants), immunosuppressants, or any drug metabolized by liver enzymes CYP2D6, CYP1A2, CYP3A4, CYP2C9, CYP2C8, or P-glycoprotein. Also mention it if you use ibuprofen regularly.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with insufficient evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a multi-ingredient herbal product with documented interactions affecting over 1,000 medications—most notably blood-sugar drugs, blood thinners, seizure medications, and drugs metabolized by your liver. If you take any prescription medication, check it against this product before starting.

ParasiteCleaner by Herbs SRA Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
ParasiteCleaner by Herbs SRA contains five active ingredients, and several of them interact with medications.
The most serious concern involves clove, which can theoretically increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when taken with antidiabetes drugs like insulin or metformin — a Moderate-severity effect. Clove's main active compound, eugenol, can inhibit multiple liver enzymes (CYP2D6, CYP1A2, CYP3A4, and CYP2C9) that break down many medications, potentially raising drug levels in your bloodstream, though this hasn't been confirmed in humans.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Neem has similar enzyme-inhibiting effects on CYP1A2, CYP3A4, CYP2C9, and CYP2C8 substrates (all Moderate severity), plus it may lower blood sugar and could interfere with immunosuppressant drugs. Papaya interacts with antidiabetes drugs, the blood thinner warfarin, the heart medication amiodarone, and the thyroid drug levothyroxine—all Moderate severity.
Wormwood may interfere with anticonvulsant drugs (seizure medications), also Moderate severity. Clove carries one Minor-severity interaction with blood thinners and ibuprofen.
Black walnut showed no interactions in our data. Altogether, these interactions span 1,147 individual medications.
Because of the liver-enzyme effects and blood-sugar risk, you'll want to check your exact prescriptions with the tool below before starting this product.

Neem
Antidiabetes Drugs
Neem might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Some clinical research shows that neem can lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes, including those already taking metformin.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, neem leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that neem leaf extract inhibits CYP1A2 enzymes. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C8 (Cyp2C8) Substrates
Theoretically, neem leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C8 substrates.
In vitro research shows that neem leaf methanol extract inhibits CYP2C8 enzymes. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates
Theoretically, neem leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research shows that neem leaf methanol extract inhibits CYP2C9 enzymes. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, neem leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that neem leaf methanol extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, neem might decrease the effectiveness of immunosuppressants.
Animal research suggests that neem might have immunostimulant effects.
P-Glycoprotein Substrates
Theoretically, neem leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of P-glycoprotein substrates.
In vitro research shows that neem leaf methanol extract inhibits renal P-glycoprotein transport activity. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Clove, Powder
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of clove extracts with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical and laboratory research suggest that polyphenol extracts from clove flower buds might lower blood glucose levels. Dosing adjustments for insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents may be necessary when taken with clove. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, concomitant use of clove may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that eugenol, the principal constituent of clove, can inhibit CYP1A2 in a dose-dependent manner,. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates
Theoretically, concomitant use of clove may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
In vitro research shows that eugenol, the principal constituent of clove, inhibits CYP2C9 in a dose-dependent manner. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates
Theoretically, concomitant use of clove may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research shows that eugenol, the principal constituent of clove, can inhibit CYP2D6 in a dose-dependent manner. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, concomitant use of clove may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that eugenol, the principal constituent of clove, can inhibit CYP3A4 in a dose-dependent manner. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, clove oil may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Laboratory research suggests that eugenol, a constituent of clove, has antiplatelet activity. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Ibuprofen (Advil, Others)
Theoretically, topical application of clove oil with ibuprofen might increase the absorption and side effects of topical ibuprofen.
Laboratory research shows that topical application of clove oil increases the absorption of topical ibuprofen. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Papaya, powder
Amiodarone (Cordarone)
Theoretically, papaya extract may increase the levels and clinical effects of amiodarone.
Animal research in rats shows that a single oral dose of papaya extract, as well as multiple doses of papaya extract daily over 14 days, prior to a single dose of amiodarone delays the time to maximum amiodarone concentration. However, only the 14-day papaya extract regimen increases systemic amiodarone exposure by 60% to 70%. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Concomitant use of antidiabetic drugs with fermented papaya can produce additive effects. It is unclear if other forms of papaya have the same effect.
A small low-quality clinical study in patients with type 2 diabetes who are taking glibenclamide shows that taking a fermented papaya preparation 3 grams daily for 2 months decreases fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels when compared to baseline. Additionally, of the 25 patients in the study, 9 required a reduction in glibenclamide dose.
Levothyroxine (Synthroid, Others)
Theoretically, consuming large quantities of papaya fruit can reduce the clinical effects of levothyroxine.
In one case-report, a 37-year-old male with a history of thyroidectomy who was stabilized on levothyroxine for 5 years presented with hypothyroidism after consuming 5-6 papaya fruits daily for 14 days during vacation. In a controlled re-challenge test involving 5-6 papayas daily, the patient remained euthyroid for 7 days, but developed mild hypothyroidism after 14 days. Both times, thyroid levels normalized 40-45 days after discontinuing papaya.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, concomitant use of warfarin with papain-containing papaya extract might increase the effects and side effects of warfarin.
In one case report, a patient previously stable on warfarin was found to have an international normalization ratio (INR) of 7.4, which was attributed to ingestion of a supplement containing papain from papaya extract.
Wormwood, powder
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, taking wormwood might interfere with the effects of anticonvulsant drugs.
Thujone, a constituent of wormwood, has convulsant effects.
