Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: Razberi-K, a red raspberry extract at 100 mg per capsule. Red raspberry is the fruit and leaf of Rubus idaeus, traditionally used in herbal medicine.

The capsule itself is filled with inactive ingredients including rice flour, gelatin, and magnesium stearate.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Red Raspberry product and its label doesn't state a use — see Red Raspberry's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for red raspberry ketones isn't established in the data we hold. We have insufficient reliable evidence to rate its use for aging skin, heart disease, respiratory tract infections, congestive heart failure, or diabetes.

If you're considering this product for a specific health concern, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist to explore whether the evidence supports it for your situation.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Red raspberry fruit is generally well tolerated, though safety data is limited. The most common side effects reported with the leaf are mild—diarrhea, stomach upset, and pain in the upper abdomen—but these don't typically happen at standard doses.

One occupational case of asthma-like symptoms (wheezing and shortness of breath) was reported from inhaling raspberry powder, though you're taking this orally so that's not a concern here. For pregnancy, red raspberry carries mixed safety ratings in the data—some sources call it likely safe, others possibly safe, and some rate it possibly unsafe.

The safety data on breastfeeding isn't clear enough to confirm one way or the other. If you're pregnant or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product to get personalized guidance.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Red Raspberry.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 135 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you're on blood thinners (anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin or aspirin) or insulin. Both carry Moderate-severity interaction risks: raspberry may increase bleeding or lower your blood sugar.

Altogether, these interactions span 135 individual medications.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, taking red raspberry leaf with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding.
In vitro research suggests that red raspberry leaf extract has antiplatelet activity and enhances the in vitro effects of the antiplatelet medication cangrelor. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Insulin

Red raspberry leaf might reduce glucose levels in patients being treated with insulin.
In one case report, a 38-year-old patient with gestational diabetes, whose blood glucose was being controlled with medical nutrition therapy and insulin, developed hypoglycemia after consuming two servings of raspberry leaf tea daily for 3 days beginning at 32 weeks' gestation. The patient required an insulin dose reduction. The hypoglycemia was considered to be probably related to use of red raspberry leaf tea.

Razberi-K Raspberry Ketones 100 mg by Swanson: Common Questions

Does Razberi-K Raspberry Ketones 100 mg by Swanson interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Razberi-K Raspberry Ketones 100 mg has a known interaction with 135 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Razberi-K Raspberry Ketones 100 mg contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Does raspberry ketone actually work for anti-aging or any health condition?
The evidence we have doesn't support claims for aging skin, heart disease, infections, or diabetes—there's not enough reliable data to rate how well it works for any of these. If you're thinking about it for a specific reason, ask your doctor whether the science backs it up for what you're after.
What are the most common side effects?
Diarrhea, stomach upset, and upper belly pain are the side effects reported most often, but they don't commonly occur at typical doses. Most people tolerate it without problems.
Is it safe to take while pregnant?
The safety data on red raspberry in pregnancy is mixed—some sources rate it likely safe, others say possibly safe, and some caution against it. Because the data isn't clear, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it during pregnancy to get advice tailored to your situation.
Is it safe while breastfeeding?
We don't have enough reliable information to confirm whether it's safe while breastfeeding. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you're nursing.
Why do I need to be careful if I take insulin?
Red raspberry may lower blood sugar levels on its own. If you're already taking insulin to control your glucose, adding this product could push your blood sugar too low (hypoglycemia). That's why you want your doctor or pharmacist to clear it first.
