- Rooibos Preparation Hot: To release the full flavor and benefits of rooibos, steep one tea bag in 8 oz of 200(0)F water for 10 minutes. Iced: Rooibos requires hot water to release its beneficial properties and flavor. Brew hot tea at double strength, then add ice. Special Instructions: South African farmers traditionally place a pot of rooibos on the woodstove and let it simmer all day. Not only is this the tastiest way to drink rooibos, it's also the healthiest, as the long steep-time releases more antioxidants.
