How safe is it?

Rosemary is safe in normal food amounts, but concentrated extracts like this one require more caution. In pregnancy, food amounts are likely fine, but medicinal or large supplement doses should be avoided — safety data on high doses in pregnancy is not sufficient.
During breastfeeding, there isn't enough safety data on medicinal doses, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether to use it. Side effects are uncommon but possible.
Topically, rosemary can cause allergic reactions, lip and gum swelling, or allergic contact rashes — especially in people sensitive to the compound carnosol. Rarely, it may trigger occupational asthma in people who inhale it regularly.
In undiluted form or in very high doses, the oil and its camphor component could theoretically cause seizures. Topical use in sun-sensitive people might also cause sun sensitivity or skin redness.

Rosemary can also affect blood sugar control. If you take diabetes medications, rosemary might lower your blood glucose too much, causing low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Animal research shows the effect, but human studies are mixed. Additionally, rosemary contains salicylates — compounds found in aspirin — so taking it alongside aspirin, choline magnesium trisalicylate (Trilisate), or salsalate (Disalcid) could theoretically add up to stronger blood-thinning or pain-relief effects.
Finally, rosemary may speed up how your liver breaks down a group of medications called CYP1A2 substrates — meaning your body might clear them faster and they could become less effective. Lab studies show the effect, but it hasn't been confirmed in people.

Rosemary leaf extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, rosemary may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro and animal research suggests that rosemary inhibits platelet aggregation.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking rosemary with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that rosemary extract can decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic models. However, research in humans is conflicting. Although rosemary powder decreased blood glucose levels in healthy adults, no change in blood glucose levels was seen in adults with type 2 diabetes, most of whom were taking antidiabetes drugs.
Aspirin
Theoretically, rosemary might have additive effects with salicylate-containing drugs such as aspirin.
Rosemary is reported to contain salicylates.
Choline Magnesium Trisalicylate (Trilisate)
